AGE ovens and trap do not heat
This Article is valid for the following devices and version:
AGE3
Issue Description
Ovens and Trap neither heat up nor display any value different than zero.
Possible Root Cause
Instacal is outdated.
Diagnostic
Search for Instacal
Open the Start menu, type Instacal in the search bar (ensure the AGE software is not running).
Launch as administrator
Right‑click the Instacal entry and choose Run as administrator.
Confirm the temperature board is detected
After Instacal starts, look for the temperature‑board icon beneath the computer icon.
If the board appears: the connection is active and Instacal is current.
If the board does not appear (as shown in Figure 1), the board isn’t connected and Instacal may be out‑of‑date.
Fixing the Root Cause
Close the AGE software – ensure it’s not running in the background.
Launch Instacal as administrator – right‑click the Instacal shortcut and choose Run as administrator.
Run the update – use Instacal’s built‑in update function to install the latest firmware/drivers.
Reboot the PC – a full restart ensures the new components are loaded correctly.
Open the AGE software again – start AGE as usual.
Result:
The trap and ovens heat up normally.
Instacal now detects the PC board, and AGE3 connects to the hardware without errors.
How to Prevent Future Issues
Keep Instacal up to date. Install the latest Instacal version, then verify the settings.
